Clanjamfry: A Scottish Festival
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be Scottish to attend Clanjamfry ?
Certainly not! Any and all are welcome! (It has been said, however, that if you are
not Scottish when you arrive, you will be Scottish by the time you leave.)
Are there acitivites for children ?
Yes - activities in which children and their families can participate are of
particular interest in the planning of Clanjamfry. Activities typically include:
- Scotland Yard
- Nettin' Nessie
- Tossin' the Wellie
- Cakewalk
- Moon Bounce/Slide
- Make 'n Take Art Center
- Trebuchet
- Quiots
- Caber Toss
Do you have sheepherding ?
Yes. We have border collies herding sheep all day Saturday.
Do you have Scottish Games ?
Yes, we have demonstrations and participation in a variety of Scottish games.
Games include caber toss, sheaf toss, and quiots. These activities take place throughout Saturday.
What charity does Clanjamfry support ?
All proceeds from Clanjamfry support the Recreation Outreach Ministry of Evergreen Presbyterian Church.
This Recreation Outreach Ministry is one of the oldest and most comprehensive in Memphis,
offering care and opportunity for all children and families in midtown and throughout Memphis.
Is there going to be another 5k Run ?
We don't have one scheduled for the next few years. There are more festivals and runs scheduled
in the Memphis area in the months of September and October than there are weekends. And when Labor
Day moves, causing schedules to shift, events find themselves dropped from the calendar, like our Run.
Is electric power available for vendors ?
Yes, but you must let the vendor coordinator know your requirements as soon as possible.
What are the charges that a clan or society must pay to participate at
Clanjamfry ?
None. There are no charges for a duly designated representative of an organized clan or Scottish society
who wishes to set up a tent and participate at Clanjamfry.
Is electric power available for clan or society tents ?
No, we do not provide electric power for clan or society tents.
